He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree (magna cum laude) from Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) in 1998, his Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics degree from Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) in 2005, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics Education degree from Philippine Normal University (PNU) in 2012, where he became PNU’s first and only graduate of Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and also PNU’s first and only recipient of Outstanding Dissertation Award.


He started his teaching career  in summer 1998. After earning his doctorate degree, he worked as an associate professor in pure and applied mathematics in Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU), Philippines. While in NDDU, he taught various mathematics and statistics subjects to undergraduate and graduate students, served as a lead teacher for a team of 6 college math professors; and became consultant, statistician, adviser, and examiner of both undergraduate and graduate theses. He has given several trainings on technology in mathematics education and statistics; has presented research papers in several national and regional conferences; has presented virtually a paper in an international conference on knowledge, culture, and change; has served as referee in an international journal for research in mathematics education; and has also served several times as a jury in the regional research fora and competitions.

In August 2016, he joined the teacher exchange program of the US Department of State, with Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU), his home university, as his sending institution. His first assignment in the US was in Swansea High School, Lexington 4 District, South Carolina where he taught Geometry and Prob & Stats for a year to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Currently, he is assigned in Newberry Alternative School, Newberry County School District, South Carolina. This is his 17th year in the field of teaching mathematics.
